How to edit an image in 3 steps
1. Choose one image
Select one JPG/JPEG, PNG or static WebP up to 20 MB (20,000,000 bytes), 4 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. The source stays on your device; refresh the page and you will need to choose it again.
2. Crop, resize and choose a format
Move or resize the crop, or enter its coordinates and dimensions with the keyboard. Set the output width and height, keeping the aspect ratio locked unless you want to change the proportions. Choose PNG, JPEG or supported WebP output.
3. Generate, inspect and download
Generate the edited image to see its actual dimensions and file size, then download. Changing a setting invalidates the old result, so generate again before downloading the new version.
Choose the output for your picture
PNG preserves transparency and uses lossless encoding. JPEG uses a white background where the source is transparent. WebP can keep transparency when the browser supports encoding it. JPEG and WebP have a quality control from 1 to 100, starting at 85; PNG does not use that lossy-quality slider.
A lower quality setting can reduce file size but may add visible artifacts. A different format or smaller crop is not guaranteed to produce a smaller file for every source. Compare the actual output size and appearance instead of relying on a compression promise.
Crop first, then resize
The image is displayed with its decoded orientation, then cropped, resized and encoded. A crop changes which part of the picture remains. Resizing changes the number of pixels in that crop. Enlarging an image does not restore missing source detail.
Output dimensions must also stay within 4,000,000 pixels and 8,192 pixels per side. A valid width and height are positive whole numbers. Reset the crop to return to the entire image.
Continue from the edit to SVG
Use Convert edited image to SVG when you want vector paths from the edited picture. The same-page panel reuses the current image in memory, so you do not select or upload it again. Adjust the tracing settings, inspect the result and download SVG. Return to editing to change the crop or size; an old SVG is no longer valid after those edits.
Your image stays in your browser
Editing runs locally in your browser with no image, filename or image-content upload and no LLM call. This editor does not persist the original or its results. Limited anonymous usage events are separate from image processing, and an analytics failure does not block the edit.
The tool is free with unlimited edits, one image at a time. It is our lightweight utility, not the official PhotoCraft application. For layers, painting or PSD editing, explore the independent PhotoCraft guide and its official links.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit a PSD, SVG or animated image?
No. Choose a JPG/JPEG, PNG or static WebP. SVG, GIF, HEIC and animated WebP are not supported inputs.
Why does a JPEG have a white background?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so this editor fills transparent areas with white and shows that choice before export.
Do I need to upload the result again to make SVG?
No. The same-page SVG panel uses the current edited image directly in memory.
Will my image still be here after a refresh?
No. Select the source again; the editor does not store it for restoration.
