Open the official VectorCraft repository

Check the storytold owner and the VectorCraft project name. The official app page links to this repository, which links back to ArtCraft. A fork can be useful development work, but it is a separate source and should not silently replace the official download link.

Use a tag when comparing behavior

This guide uses v0.9.0, checked on October 11, 2026. Match that tag to a build when reading a feature claim or investigating an issue. The main branch can advance between visits. A closed issue is also not enough by itself: check which release contains the associated change before expecting a downloaded application to behave differently.

Useful places in the source tree

The project documents Rust and WebAssembly workflows. These are source instructions rather than a claim that we compiled, self-hosted or benchmarked the app. A release package is the simpler starting point when you only want the desktop editor.

QuestionStarting point
What can this version do?README and roadmap at its tag
How can I compile it?Development guide and workspace instructions
How are drawings stored?Native format and file-format documentation
Can I automate an edit?CLI, control-channel and MCP documentation
Where do I report a problem?Issue tracker and contribution guidance

Keep a bug report reproducible

State the version and platform, then give the smallest sequence that shows the problem. For import or export, include the source format, output format and where you reopened the result. A screenshot helps explain appearance but may not expose the geometry or fonts causing a difference. Share only samples you are allowed to publish.

Get a trace before exploring the source

Our separate browser converter can turn one JPG, PNG or WebP into SVG paths now. It runs locally without signup. Download the result and use a compatible vector editor if you need to move individual nodes or combine it with other artwork.

Frequently asked questions

Which repository should I use?

Use the linked storytold/vectorcraft project for the official source.

Did you build VectorCraft from source?

No. This guide identifies the official instructions; it does not report a completed build.

Can repository activity prove output quality?

No. Test the version and sample relevant to the actual artwork you need.
